anzac biscuits

Ingredients anzac biscuits


1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup packed brown sugar or 1 cup white
1 cup coconut flakes
4 oz butter
1 tbsp golden syrup
2 tbsp boiling water
1 tsp baking soda

how to make anzac biscuits


Grease cookie tray and preheat oven to 350°F.


Mix flour, oats, sugar and coconut flakes with a whisk.


Melt butter and syrup over low heat.


Add boiling water to baking soda. Mix well and remove from heat.


Mix the liquid and dry ingredients well.


Drop walnut sized spoon fulls of batter.


Place on tray with room to expand.


Cook for 12 to 15 minutes- just until golden brown. Let biscuits sit, five minutes, then move to cooling racks.


Golden Syrup: Inverted sugar syrup thick in consistency sweet in taste.
